IRB Tools for Education Science Research

How to submit to the IRB

MD Anderson stipulates that any research conducted that involves human subjects be reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and that, when applicable, appropriate agreements or authorizations are in place to ensure the protection of participants participating in this research at all sites. Go to the Authorizations and Agreements for more information.

When a study involves education science research, the Education Science Team in the Department of Education Development and Innovation can pre-review your protocol before you submit it to the IRB. Our guidance streamlines the approval process for your research project with the IRB.

Review Path for education research studies:

  1. Create your protocol with the MD Anderson Population Science/Psychosocial Human Subjects Protocol Template.
  2. Submit your protocol to the Education Science Team for pre-review at: https://redcap.link/mafcxequ
  3. The Education Science Team will review your protocol and send you questions and comments within ten business days.
  4. You can then submit your final protocol to the MDA IRB for approval at the Office of Human Subjects Protection  (Click on ePRTCL Login on the right)
