NIH Public Access Policy

The NIH Public Access Policy requires all peer-reviewed articles that result from research funded by NIH and published after April 7, 2008 be added to PubMed Central and have a PMCID number.

In order for articles to be eligible to receive a PMCID, they must meet three criteria:

  1. Peer-reviewed article
  2. Accepted for publication after April 7, 2008
  3. Received direct funding from an NIH grant or received support from one of the CCSG Core Resources (http://inside.mdanderson.org/departments/ccsg/ccsg-core-resources.html)
